Web site glitch at Hamleys

Toy retailer Hamleys experienced a potentially disastrous glitch on its web site which resulted in thousands of shoppers being unable to access its online store, according to reports. The retailer did not renew the domain name hamleys.com before it expired on 28th October and is now awaiting renewal or deletion, according to domain search engine WHOIS.

Reports suggest online shoppers were directed to a holding page from Network Solutions when they tried to access the hamleys.com web site. The hamleys.com online store now appears to be live and operational. Hamleys declined to comment on the problem.
